EPL Round 28

The table continues to heat up as we rapidly approach the final quarter of the season.  James Kempton is back to break down all the mid week fixtures with gambling intel to help you make some money.  Also tune into the weekly EPL podcast co-hosted by James and Pete Nordsted

Aston Villa v West Brom
PICK & Goals 2

There’s a lot of pressure on the home team for this local derby and it’ll be a red hot atmosphere at Villa Park. I lean towards the away team on the match market as tactically Sherwood v Pulis is a mismatch of epic proportions.

Hull v Sunderland
Hull -0.25 Goals 2.25

When analysing this game the old saying of “if this game was played in my back garden, I’d close the curtains” springs to mind. Another nervous match in store here and on this goal line I will take the under 2.25 goals rather than look to the match market.

Southampton v C Palace
Soton -0.75 Goals 2.25

All the pundits are yet again saying Southampton’s bubble has burst. The usual rubbish is being spouted but the truth is that the Saints do not concede more than one goal in these spots against Palace type opposition. Factor that in to your betting thoughts and you won’t go too far wrong but this particular match is one to swerve for me.

Man City v Leicester
City -1.75 Goals 3

Man City is struggling to find their form and in the second half against Liverpool on Sunday they were completely dominated at Anfield. Leicester obliged last time out at Everton for us by securing a draw but I see a two goal margin of defeat as the best they can hope for at the Etihad.

Newcastle v Man United
Man United -0.5 Goals 2.25

There should be an air of relief around St James’ Park following that important weekend win over Aston Villa. Now that they are virtually safe from relegation will they take the foot off the gas? It’s hard work watching United at the moment but from a betting perspective you know they will be disciplined and always keep you in shouting distance of cashing your ticket. Give me United in this game and I do like the over 2.25 goals.

QPR v Arsenal
Arsenal -1 Goals 2.75

Backing QPR even plus a goal in this spot does not appeal. Arsenal made very hard work of covering over the weekend against Everton but they managed to cash it late for us; It’s the Gunners or nothing on this line.

Stoke v Everton
PK Goals 2.25

Not quite sure how Everton are being given this current level of respect. Stoke are in good form and have really kicked on in recent weeks under Mark Hughes. Love the value on the home team on the Pk line.

Spurs v Swansea
Spurs -0.75 Goals 2.5

How will Spurs react to that weekend cup defeat? A young team such as Tottenham may have some hangover from the defeat and I’d not be laying over half a goal in this game. Swansea won at Burnley on Saturday but when traveling away from home to good teams they cannot be trusted. Tottenham straight up for me…even with the hangover being in play.

West Ham v Chelsea
Chelsea -0.75 Goals 2.5

West Ham were dire at the weekend whilst Chelsea were basking in Carling Cup glory at a sodden Wembley. It will be business as usual for Chelsea as Mourinho will not let his slide slip at the chance to take full control of the title race over Manchester City.

Liverpool v Burnley
Liverpool -1.5 Goals 3

Burnley have dug in away at many of the elite sides this season with admirable performances against Chelsea and both Manchester clubs this season. However, there is a fluidity of movement in this Liverpool side that should see them open Burnley up at will. Two games in four days at this level for a club like Burnley is tough and this could get ugly. Liverpool to win and cover with the over three goal line cashing without any help from the visitors!
