Fixture Report

The season is winding down…I mean we’ve already crowned the 2015 EPL champion but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty left to play for with European positioning and relegation still in the mix.  James Kempton is here to drop some knowledge for the weekend slate

Everton v Sunderland
Everton -0.5 Goals 2.25

The variable nature of the Toffees performances makes me wary of siding with them here against a team fighting for their EPL life. Only five goals in the last four EPL meetings of the sides suggests this will be a cagey low scoring game and given the away sides plight who could argue? Under 2.5 goals for me.

Aston Villa v West Ham
Aston Villa -0.5 Goals 2.5

Was the victory at home to Burnley last Saturday West Ham’s final stand at the end of a long season for the Hammers? I can’t trust Villa though on this match line and despite their recent expansive play against a dour Hammers side the goal markets also appear a mystery to me.

Hull v Burnley
Hull -0.5 Goals 2.25

Burnley have to win this game and whilst it’s not imperative that the home team gain all three points, it is advisable that they do. Burnley have gained just one win on the road all season so although I suggest looking at straight up bets for either team it will be a brave man who bets Burnley. All the trends though point to a bet on the home team or a complete swerve.

Leicester v Southampton
PK and Goals 2.25

Leicester are in an incredible run of form and you’d think you have to favour them here? The Saints don’t concede many goals on the road at the poorer teams, just eight in nine away at bottom half teams. I lean towards the away side at this market price as it seems big over correction from last week at Sunderland where they were a half goal favourite.

Newcastle v West Brom
PK Goals 2.25

The biggest game in Newcastle’s history? Tony Pulis will look to keep this game tight and play on the tension that will reverberate around St James’ Park. Give me a little piece of the unders whilst the outright draw may offer a little bit of value as well

Stoke v Spurs
PK Goals 2.5

Both sides had disappointing defeats at the weekend where they failed to find the back of the net. Tottenham have won four of their five away games at teams placed in the middle third of the table. I lean towards the away team and quite like the overs.

Palace v Man United
United -0.75 Goals 2.25

This line could move to +0.5 as the trust in United in the betting market is dwindling week by week. At 0.75 there may be small value with the home team given Pardew loves the limelight but it’s really a game to avoid.

Man City v QPR
City -2 Goals 3.5

It’s hard to imagine how Rangers can keep the score down here as they conceded two goals at a fairly toothless Liverpool last weekend. Give me the home to score at least three, the home cover and even with a line set at 3.5 goals I will side with the overs.

Chelsea v Liverpool
Chelsea -0.25 Goals 2.25

I know Chelsea have already won the title but this game means so much for Jose. He would have loved to manage Liverpool but they weren’t interested and he’s never forgiven them for the ‘Ghost Goal’ in the Champions League. Great value on the home win.

Arsenal v Swansea
Arsenal -1.5 Goals 3

Can Swansea get up for this meaningless game for the Welsh side? You’d think not but Gary Monk and his team have proved doubters wrong all season. On home soil though you have to trust the Gunners to deliver victory but relying on them to cover this line does not appeal to me.
