UFC Fight Night: D’arce chokes in Dublin

Fight Analysis provided by Gamblou

Welcome fight Enthusiasts to the first fight card in a number of weeks. This slate will highlight immense Irish fight enthusiasm and provide an international flavor even though this it’s lacking in big name recognition and quality ranked fighters. We’ll be unable to watch these fights as our attention will be on Homecoming and the 100 year anniversary of the Greek system at the University of Arizona but that won’t prevent us from grabbing some value on a couple of fights we feel offer us some advantage. Our due diligence was comprehensive for this card even though our dissertation for each choice is somewhat abbreviated since we have to publish this Friday after the weigh-ins rather than Saturday AM which is our usual routine. The lines provided will be the current lines at the time of this writing….

UFC 2015: 71-85-1 + $1,651.00

(All GambLou.com releases are understood to be a standard and hypothetical $100 per position unless otherwise stated. We employ $100 to easily track results as every GambLou.com release is accounted for each Monday AM. Public accounting allows us to display bottom line profitability while providing our readers with 110% disclosure).

-Let’s Fight-

Daly -110 vs. Almeida -110

Daly is at home fighting in front of her fans and has an experience edge but other than that we feel she is quite limited as an MMA artist. Her opponent Almeida will be the taller, larger, younger fighter in this bout and she’ll also sport a 4” reach advantage. While Almeida is lacking in some stand up prowess we do feel her ground game will be far superior to the home town lass and she is an improving fighter. This is a dangerous spot for Daly.

Almeida -110 (half)

Ray -500 vs. Lebout +400

This line opened up Ray -270 which seemed to us to be appropriate. Now Ray’s ballooned based on blokes bombing parlays. On value alone we will ‘Swing it Easy’ with the Frenchman who will be the taller, longer fighter.

Lebout +400 (half)

Dalby -115 vs. Till -105

This is sure to be a great fight between the more experienced Dane Dalby who is tough, has a sturdy wrestling base and decent stand up against a young up and comer in Till who is younger, taller and a southpaw. Till’s Jiu-Jitsu, his power and his finishing ability are indicators we are keen on here and we believe he is a true ‘hardchaw’ in this spot.

Till -105

Smolka -120 vs. Holohan +100

Paddy Holohan has had a fine run in the UFC since he shirt tailed off of McGregor in the last Irish fight card. Paddy has a real challenge on his hands in that Smolka is as tall and as long as he which should challenge the home town fighter who has previously towered over his past opponents. On the Fight Network with Gabriel Morency this week we mentioned that Smolka had already been on the wrong end of overlooking opponents as a few fights ago he took Chris Cariaso lightly and got whupped. That was a great lesson for the Hawaiian warrior who is improving with each fight and should be up for controlling Holohan and thwarting the Irishman’s take down attempts for Paddy surely wants this fight on the floor. Smolka owns advantage on the feet and is every bit as capable as the home town boy on the mat also. We’re getting a fair price on a guy that will unlikely be only -120 in future fights…

Smolka -120
